About Troop 186
Troop 186 is a parent-chartered Boy Scout troop in the Laurelhurst area of Seattle, Washington.
The troop meets most Mondays during the school year at the Laurelhurst Elementary school.

Meetings
Next Troop Meeting Will Be February 22
There will be no regular troop meeting on February 8. There is no parent meeting on February 8. However, there will be an Eagle Scout Workshop that evening. We will go over the requirements, go over filling out the forms and make the entire process less scary and more doable. All scouts on their way to Eagle this year are invited.
There will be a Greenbar/Senior Council meeting on Thursday February 11 from 6:00-8:30, location TBD. The Executive Patrol, Senior. Patrol and of course the Greenbar Council are expected to attend. There will be food.
There will be no regular troop meeting on February 15, which is the start of winter break for many Seattle schools.
Upcoming Outings
Ski Trip to Stevens Pass, Feb 6-7 2010
The annual troop ski trip will be at Stevens Pass on February 6-7 2010. We will stay in the Stevens Pass Lodge, the Mountaineers ski lodge located at the resort. It is ski in, ski out. Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday is included. Information on the lodge is available here.
Bird Study Merit Badge Outing, Mar 13 2010
We will have our annual Bird Study Merit Badge Workshop on Saturday March 13 2010 at the Burke Museum and the Union Bay Natural Area (aka the Montlake Fill).
Gun Safety Course Outing, Mar 28 2010
Tentatively planned gun safety course on Sunday March 28 2010 at the Kenmore Gun range.

Indoor Rock Climbing Dec 12

Camp Parsons Clean Up Weekend Nov 21-22
We will have our annual Camp Parsons Clean Up Outing on the weekend of November 21-22. Note that this is a later date than what was on the initial outings calendar. This is a great opportunity to give back to the Camp, earn some service hours and build a huge bonfire.
Sequim Bay Bike Trip Oct 24-25
The fall bike and camping outing was near Sequim Bay on the Olympic Penninsula on the weekend of Oct 24-25. Details for the outing (PDF).
Aviation Merit Badge Oct 11
Scouts will have an opportunity to earn the Aviation at the Aviation Outing on Sunday, Oct 11 2009 at Regal Air Paine Field. Details for the outing (MS-Word).
Sunrise Backpack Trip Sept 26-27
This will be an overnight hike at Sunrise on Mt Rainier. Overnight camping doesn't get any better than this. Details for the outing (MS-Word).
Sky Ranch Kayak Outing Sept 12-13
The first outing of the 2009-2010 school year will be our annual Kayak Outing at Sky Ranch in South Puget Sound, September 12-13. This outing has it all: kayaking, camping, indoor toilets, gas BBQ, and the best E ticket ride - night time zip line rides. Details for the outing (PDF).
